Introduction

So, where are we heading with this lesson?

Having made decisions, the environment and context in which they were made will often change due to forces outside of our influence or control. It's important that we can respond quickly and effectively when this happens.

Our subject expert explores a scenario to illustrate the use of the PESTLE analysis tool to define change factors. Even if you are familiar with the PESTLE approach, we’ll ask you to consider how you may apply it in the context of the scenario and how it may influence your response to the situation.

We’ll get you to reflect individually about the application and value of a PESTLE analysis either for your organisation, your team or department, or a project you’re working on. What insights does this provide and how should you respond? Remember to make notes in your interactive workbook.

We also encourage you to take part in the community forum which provides the collaborative space to share your thinking and ideas with others. In this lesson we’d like you to share one aspect of your PESTLE analysis, describing the insights that you have gained from this analysis and what you’re planning to do as a result.

Review what others have posted to gain wider understanding on the theme from people professionals working in different contexts. Support the learning community by reading the contributions of others, 'liking' those you find helpful and add your unique reflections to the conversation.
