So, where are we heading in this lesson?
We'll begin by looking at three scenarios to explore what is motivating people; we'll see that the purpose and underlying motivation driving people can vary immensely.
Then we'll present a series of situations in which motivation is proving challenging for which you need to consider how you would respond. Our subject expert will then share some thoughts and recommendations; see how these confirm or enhance your thinking.
We'll then get you to reflect on managers you have had, and which showed the best leadership qualities and what they did that left this impression on you? These are aspects that you should consider emulating in your practice. Remember to make notes in your interactive workbook.
We also encourage you to take part in the community forum which provides the collaborative space to share your thinking and ideas with others. In this lesson we'll ask you to share your experience of what leadership behaviours you think are essential to establish a sense of team purpose.
Review what others have posted to gain wider understanding on the theme from people professionals working in different contexts. Support the learning community by reading the contributions of others, 'liking' those you find helpful and add your unique reflections to the conversation.
